CFRRC has a skilled, goal-oriented, and dedicated team of coaches that demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication, and focus on safety, while teaching the sport of and love of rowing to individuals of all skill levels.

Allison Potter

Head Coach

Allison rowed collegiate at Savannah College of Art and Design, participated in Masters rowing at Lake Natoma Masters Club, and joined CFRRC in 2009. Allison holds US Rowing Level II and Concept2 UCanRow2 Indoor Rowing coaching certifications.

Mark Basquill

Sculling Coach

Mark was introduced to rowing at Ventnor Beach Patrol, and rowed collegiate at University of Pennsylvania (Lightweight); Masters Rowing at Vesper, University Barge Club, Viking Rowing Club, and joined CFRRC in 2010. Mark holds a US Rowing Level II coaching certification.

Sandy Cobb

Assistant Coach

Sandy participated in Masters rowing at Alexandria Community Rowing (ACR) from 2005 to 2013, and joined CFRRC in 2013. Sandy holds a US Rowing Level II coaching certification.

Glenda Howard

Sculling Coach & Development Instructor

Glenda joined CFRRC in 2014 and holds a US Rowing Level I coaching certification.

Kyle Moran

Assistant Coach

Kyle started rowing at UNC Chapel Hill in 2017. With his college team he placed 4th at College Nationals and won a gold at Head of the Hooch. Kyle served as assistant coach for a middle and high school team. He’s been a valued member of our club since 2020.

Brett Voeltz

Assistant Coach

Brett started rowing in high school at the Schweriner Rudergesellschaft in Germany. Brett rowed in the collegiate club at James Madison University and joined CFRRC in 2022. He previously coached the high school women’s novice team at Oakton High School in Northern Virginia.

Moni Armendarez

Assistant Coach

Moni joined CFRRC in 2021 after spending countless hours on the ergometer. After falling in love with rowing, her competitive spirit led her to rowing on the water. Moni is a lifelong athlete who began her collegiate career at Indiana University where she played softball and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. She played professionally for 5 years and has spent the last 15 years as a private softball/ baseball instructor. Moni is a NASM-certified trainer.
