Cape Fear River Rowing Club Inc was incorporated on June 29, 1989 as a non-profit corporation in the State of North Carolina. We are organized “exclusively for educational purposes” under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) and we were granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status by the IRS on May 22, 2022. We are further classified as a public charity under IRC Section 509(a)(2). Donors can deduct contributions under IRC Section 170.
Our purpose is to advance the sport of rowing and promote its importance to the community by generating education, involvement, and amateur competition in the sport of rowing through learn to row courses and membership participation in amateur rowing competitions.
We work to:
- Promote the sport of rowing in the Wilmington area
- Provide the means for both recreational and competitive rowing
- Teach the sport of rowing without preference to race, religion, gender, or color
