SUMMARY:Learn to Row
DESCRIPTION:The Learn to Row session will introduce you to the proper technique of sweep rowing (one oar per person). Class is limited to 8 students. Cost for the Learn To Row program is $325.*The session schedule will be as follows (Students must attend all three sessions):Thursday September 12\, 5:30PM – 7:30PMOn-land only sessionSaturday September 14\, 8:00AM – NoonOn-the-water trainingSunday September 15\, 8:00AM – NoonOn-the-water training \n\n\n\n*The session fee also includes one month of coached practices with other novice rowers after graduation. The coached novice practices are not mandatory\, but you are strongly encouraged to attend as many as you can. Novice practices generally occur on Thursday 6:00-7:30AM\, Saturday 8:00-9:30AM\, and Sunday 7:00-8:30AM as the weather allows. \n\n\n\nThe class itself is not designed to be physically strenuous\, however you must have a reasonable level of fitness to participate.Students must be able to:  \n\n\n\n\nswim or tread water for 20 minutes.\n\n\n\nlift 35 – 40 pounds overhead (to help carry the boat from the boathouse to the water and back).\n\n\n\nperform a full squat (to the ground) to get into and out of the boat and place the boat in and take it out of the water.\n\n\n\n\nRowing is a team sport. Signing up to participate requires your full commitment to show up on time and participate. \n\n\n\n There will be NO REFUNDS for cancellations made 14 days or less prior to the start of the session. If you register and are then unable to attend for any reason\, please contact us at membership@CapeFearRiverRowingClub.org so that we may find a substitute for your seat. \n\n\n\nLOCATION\n\n\n\n3410 River Rd\, Wilmington\, NC\, 28412
